Two of my one-act plays, Face(book) the Music and Reunited (and it Feels So Cruel) were part of this play reading festival in Geneva, New York. Face(book) the Music chronicles a young couple on a blind date. Unfortunately, the girl is abnormally preoccupied with texting on her smartphone. But soon the twosome becomes a threesome when one of her phone apps starts to dominate the evening. Comedy ensures. Reunited (and it Feels So Cruel) follows two older men who meet up again at their 20-year high school reunion. But things are not what they seem to be. Memories can be very deceiving. Reunited has been produced by several theatre companies in the Chicagoland area and elsewhere. A filmed adaptation of the play won "Best Screenplay" at the In The Cut Film Festival in Bloomfield, New Jersey in March 2022.
Friend Me was part of an evening of one-act plays, showcasing the themes of love and passion. The Festival of Crazy Love was performed at the Jersey Shore Arts Center is Asbury Park, New Jersey. Friend Me centers on two young people who meet during a subway ride. One is dressed like a dragon, while the other possibly comes from another planet to save mankind. Who knew?
In the White Room is a one-act play with a strong dystopian theme. In the White Room centers on a young woman, who in classic Kafkaesque fashion is arrested, but is not told why. The play was performed as part of an evening of "scary"-themed short plays at the Jersey Shore Arts Center.
A pair of my one-act plays, Where's Fred? and Blue Pill Blues were featured in La Strada's Gifts Festival in the winter of 2017. Where's Fred? tells the story of a son trying to tell his parents that their favorite dog has died, but not before the father has unknowingly used the deceased pet's funeral urn as an ashtray. Blue Pill Blues tells the tale of a newly-divorced middle-aged man who goes to his doctor to get a prescription for Viagra. Unfortunately, the doctor's visit doesn't go as smoothly as he thought it would.
My one-act play, Decisions, Decisions was a LGBTQ-themed comedy that was featured at La Strada's Rainbow Festival in the summer of 2016. Decisions, Decisions centers on two gay couples trying to decide which candidate to vote for in the 2016 presidential election. Fasten your seatbelts.
